Atlantis Robotics was founded in 2008 at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona, as an extension of the regular Engineering program into the field of underwater robotics. Despite our relative inexperience in this field, we were able to leverage our prior experience in both the FIRST and BattleBots robotics competitions to take first and second place in the high school division of the 2009 and the 2010 National Underwater Robotics Challenge, respectively. During the upcoming 2010-2011 school year, we hope to not only retake 1st place in the high school division of NURC, but to also participate in the 2011 MATE International ROV Comeptition.
